Rated 5 out of 5 by You need to learn how to load head correctly 1. clean head before threading 2. line must be installed counterclockwise on both lines looking at it from the bottom side.3 lines must be tight and attached to clips opposite each other(3 and 9 o'clock). 4. slide spool into holder WITH LINES ATTACHED TO CLIPS line up clips with holes in holder push in and lines will disconnect and line will stay tight. 5. Screw on the bumper and then SPAY A BIT OF WD-40 IN EACH HOLE.When advancing the line tap once with machine at FULL THROTTLEThe head performs better with .095 line.Advance line before it gets shorter than 1" May 20, 2015
Rated 2 out of 5 by Great Trimmer Horrible Head Stihl makes great trimmers, but provides horrible line feeding heads with their trimmers. You must replace the original head with an aftermarket head that works. The original (new out of the box) double feed head does not feed line and is very hard to disassemble and rethread. May 4, 2015
Rated 1 out of 5 by Mowing heads 25-2 and 30-2 simply disaster I bought 3 weeks ago the trimmer FS250 with the mowing heads 25-2 and 30-2. I am really disappointed with both heads. Not only it takes too much time to replace the line/string, you push the head to tab and go and the line does not feed up, either because due to high temperature (after 15 minutes work) the line melted and so got stuck inside or because simply it does not come out for whatever other reason. I have been using trimmers for more than 10 years and I have never experience such a problem. I was told that this brand is good Since the engine is powerful and reliable which is true so far but when it comes to mowing head is simply a disaster. You spend more time trying to fix the line rather than cut bruches. May 1, 2015
Rated 1 out of 5 by Very expensive piece of junk! We are really mad at what a waste of our time. and $ Wow it all seems so great when they sell it to you at your local hardware store. And it did work great for the first spool of line. But when we had to try and put new string in. FORGET IT unless you are Houdini. Dont waste your money and peace of mind on this thing, it drove us nuts! Now we are left with a worthless piece of great looking junk! I recommend this product to anyone who would really enjoy wasting an entire morning trying to feed new line into the spool. It really is a great waste of time to be sure. April 27, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Great head but.... This is a great trimmer head, however I dont like 2 things. The first, It cant hold much line. It also dosent look that durable. I run a business with lots of edging. After 5 homes like this, I run out of line. How ever, I now use ECHO crossfire, and it works like a charm. Just read the instructions and it works great! Rated 1 out of 5 by Very Difficult to Use Trimmer works great but line head is a disaster. On the first one, the line continuously broke and finally the line fused and I had to buy a replacement. It appears the designer of the "improved" line head also designed the Rubic cube. Only a genius or one with patience of Job can use it. December 4, 2014
Rated 1 out of 5 by Not of good use The trim lines melted together. The spool has cracked. November 4, 2014
Rated 1 out of 5 by awful Stahl changed the design from what was originally supplied with my FSE60 and it continuously jams. The original lasted four years. The new design only five or six uses. Can not believe such a high quality trimmer is not being supported by the original high quality components. The trimmer is excellent, the new spools are awful. September 28, 2014
